Meet the Ensemble

  • Nicholas Barelli is an actor and director from Rockford, Illinois. He received his BFA in Theatre Performance from the University of Illinois at Chicago under the tutelage of Yasen Peyankov, Tanera Marshall, and Zeijlko Djukic. Nick is the artistic director of “Moon Dog Theatre” here in downtown Rockford. Previous directing credits include “Red” by John Logan, and “Memory Play” adapted from “The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams. Nick would like to thank everyone at the Rockford Public Library as well as the artistic community here in Rockford for the opportunity to develop and create his art in the city that raised him.

  • Elliot Baker (Dramaturg, The Ruse of Medusa; Actor, Phoebe in Winter) is a writer, actor and teaching artist who works between the cities of Chicago and London. As literary manager of Facility he uses an in-depth knowledge of audience response and playwriting nous to uncover and interrogate new work from emerging artists in both the Chicagoland area and worldwide. His play, The Silence That Follows, was produced by Facility at A Red Orchid Theatre in the Summer of 2016. His work has also been staged by The Stoop Feast (Chicago) and The Space (London). As an actor, Elliot has worked at Writers Theatre, A Red Orchid Theatre, Piccolo Theatre, and Coriolis Theatre. He holds a BFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MFA from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

  • Phillip Fox is a 2018 graduate from The University of Illinois at Chicago, where he studied with a BFA in Acting. His recent roles include King Cymbeline in Forest Park Theatre's production of "Innogen", an adaptation of William Shakespeare's "Cymbeline", as well as in Moon Dog's projects of Tennessee Williams' "The Glass Menagerie" portraying Tom, and John Logan's "Red" portraying Ken. He is grateful to be apart of the journey of Moon Dog and for being able to help create a space of creativity and self expression for fellow artists.

David Weber Headshot
  • David Weber is a member of the National Alliance of Acting Teachers and has an MFA in Acting from California State University Long Beach where he studied acting and acting pedagogy. He has worked as an education artist since 2002 with many equity playhouses, but his longest relationships are with the Atlanta Shakespeare Company and Lookingglass Theater Company. He has been recognized by Bert Osborn, critic at AJC, as one of the Top Ten Actors in Atlanta, for his work in Terrence McNally’s A Perfect Ganesh. This summer David played Mark Rothko in John Logan’s Red with Moon Dog Theatre Company in Rockford, Illinois and most recently played Capulet in R & J at Oklahoma Shakespeare Festival. Next up, he is performing his one-man Christmas Carol, “An Actor’s Carol: One clown’s Dickensian marathon towards redemption” on tour to Atlanta, Chicago, Rockford, Seattle, Dallas, and Los Angeles this December. He is an Assistant Professor of Performance at Oklahoma State University.

  • As a child, blissfully full of goofy energy, Michael Keim always found himself performing for those around him. He acquired a bachelor's degree from Millikin University where exploration and performance of the arts, entertainment, and movement became his focus. “Keim”, which is his preferred name, is an actor and stuntman with a passion for creating entertainment. He is extremely grateful to be a member of Moon Dog Theatre and have the opportunity to perform and entertain in his hometown. Currently, he is touring with Feld Entertainment as a swing with Marvel Universe Live: Age of Heroes, and has been training as a circus performer in his spare time. With Moon Dog by his side, the sky's the limit for Keim's artistic endeavors.

  • Mary Grace Seigel is an actress, director, and costume designer originally from Rockford. After graduating from Carthage College with a BA in Theatre, Mary worked in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with credits at Renaissance Theatreworks, Forte Theatre Company, Optimists Theater, and her own company Placeholder Players. Recent acting credits include Cry it Out (Lina), Stupid Fucking Bird (Nina), Things I Know to be True (Pip), and The Revolutionists (Marie Antoinette.)Her work has also been featured at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Awards and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019 and again in 2024.
